One of the best things about working at Esquire is that there isn't an opportunity to get bored. We're always tweaking and changing around the design before it feels stale. For example -- the table of contents. Most magazines have a straightforward, formatted look. We reinvent the look of these pages almost every month and try to have fun with the design. Here are some TOC's I've worked on.
I collaged together strips from photos within the magazine to make a new image. There's something liberating about working with scissors, tape and glue after hours of staring at a computer screen.
Radha Mitchell + Gore Vidal = a face sort of like Hillary Clinton's.
Plus a new TOC for the 75th anniversary issue in October. Will post later.
